Enclosed you will find the flight package schedule as well as information on our American Plan trips, Housekeeping trips and Outpost package options. We have flight packages from Minneapolis, Denver and most Northwest airlines travel centers. The package includes flights via Northwest Airlines from Denver orMinneapolis to Saskatoon, Saskatoon to LaRonge and the last leg to the lodge. All are round-trip flights. The trips will depart Minneapolis or Denver on a Saturday and return on a Friday. This schedule gives you five full days of great fishing. A complete flight schedule and price sheet is included. We also have fly/drive packages or ground transportation available from La Ronge. Now for a little news from the camp... We thought the ice was late in '08, it was worse this past summer. We were still pushing chunks of ice on the 20th of June. We lost our first two weeks of fishing and hunting on the main lake but could finally get to the outpost so we flew some bear hunters there. Once they could hunt, the bear hunters had good weather and good luck, cinnamon, blond, brown and black bear were taken. The fishing was par with the Reindeer reputation, but it was a cold summer! We used a lot of propane. The weather turned unseasonably warm in the fall, many times it was warmer in Saskatchewan than here in Nebraska! Even with the unusual weather the moose hunters were 100% successful in September. The fishing at Harriot and Kyaska Lakes was unsurpassed for walleye as well as trout and northern. If you like the wilderness solitude, that is the place to be. Propane refrierators in the cabins keep the food, fish, and beer cold. 15 hp, 4 stroke motors make fishing quiet and easy and satellite phones keep you in touch... (If you want to be)! A little update on the family. it's grown a little. Casey got married over Christmas break last winter. We all went to Mexico for the wedding. He and his wife, Paola, are at home in Omaha where Casey is finishing his third year of medical school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Paola works for ConAgra in the Human Resource department. Lesley is in her second year of occupational therapy school at Creighton Unversity. Her boyfriend is in Afghanistan again but should be back soon. As I have said before, we won't be retiring any time soon! (I am also still teaching). As always we are always looking for good pictures to update our albums. If you have some and could share then with us and other quests, please send us a copy. We would appreciate your help in keeping our albums current. Thank you for your help and past business. We would enjoy having you as our quest again for a great fishing or hunting trip on Reindeer Lake. |
